Things to watch for Halloween weekend

I don’t know about you but I love horror movies and TV shows. There is just something about having a cozy evening on the couch or bed with a warm blanket and a spooky movie. So if you are still looking for something to watch this Halloween weekend you can check out my list of 10 movies and TV shows.

Also everyone knows classic horror movies so I will skip those since I’m sure most people have seen them. Also I am skipping zombie movies, since those could have their own separate list. Speaking of that I totally think we should have a Zombie Day ^^ Anyways here is my list in no particular order!

πŸŽƒ Evil Dead (2013)

This is the reboot of the old Evil dead movies, It is quite gory and I love it! But if you have a hard time with body horror movies, maybe this one should be a skip for you. Also never read from strange books, you never know when you will summon something Evil!

πŸŽƒ The House of Haunting Hill (2018)

This one is a TV show rather then a movie, but its so good! It was made by Netflix It falls into their The Haunting anthology series and is a loose adaption of a book with the same name by the author Shirley Jackson.

πŸŽƒ The Conjuring (2013)

This is the first movie in the Conjuring series and I think the best of the bunch. I find Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson so charming and they have amazing chemistry on screen!

πŸŽƒ The What We Do in the Shadows (2014)

If you are looking for something more light-hearted this is definitely the movie to watch. A mockumentary about the daily Vampire struggles, set in New Zealand. After the success of this movie they also actually made a TV show, but I have yet to give it a watch.

πŸŽƒ It Follows (2014)

A sexually transmitted demon! It’s not really a demon its a – thing – that follows you and it never stops until it kills you. The most unnerving thing about it is that it just walks at a slow pace towards its victim. Definitely a must watch!

πŸŽƒ Trick ‘r Treat (2007)

Another quite funny and very Halloween themed movie is Trick ‘r Treat. It’s an anthology movie but all the individual stories sort of overlap at points.

πŸŽƒ Penny Dreadful (2014)

This is another TV show and its so good! The design of the show is amazing, all the sets and costumes are so very detailed and well crafted! The show draws on many old stories like Frankenstein, Dracula, Dorian Grey and many more.

πŸŽƒ Lake Mungo (2008)

Another mockumentary movie, this time from Australia. It is about a family who have lost their daughter and the supernatural things that surround it before and after her death. It is such an understated movie!

πŸŽƒ The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014)

This is a found footage style movie about a film crew that want to document the mental decline of a woman who has Alzheimer’s. But things turn for the worse quickly and very creepy. This movie has some gore just as a note.
