Winter Christmas House

I wanted to upload this little house last week but I was sick so I only managed to finish it now. So hopefully someone will still find it useful as I think its a really cute wintry decoration.

MATERIALS & TOOLS

  • felt fabric; I used a thicker felt for the roof and the shingles
  • thread and embroidery thread
  • cardboard
  • hot glue
  • felt glue: you can buy felt glue at the craft store but I find its always really pricey, so I tried white wood glue and it works just fine and its really cheap. I have been using white wood glue on my papercraft as well so it is really versatile.

NOTES

  • the cardboard pieces, use the pattern pieces but cut them a bit smaller

Thanks for watching!

I am wondering why you glued them AND sewed them? Is the glue just to hold them in place while you sew? Would good glue be enough so that you don’t have to sew them (except the decorations, of course)?

I do sometimes use glue just to hold things in place =) That said, you could definitely glue certain parts instead of sewing them =) I’ve found hot glue works better than regular glue, though unfortunately it’s not very precise.
